Explore the Possibilities!
Once you become an Explorer, you will attend meetings twice a month, participate in physical activities, volunteer at community and department events, and earn scholarships.
Explorers are given the opportunity to participate in a multi-weekend Explorer Training Academy. During the academy, they will learn leadership, soft skills, be trained on firefighting skills, hose lay evolutions, ladder techniques, salvage operations, proper use of firefighting tools and equipment, breathing apparatus use, first aid and CPR, and other related subjects. Upon completing the Explorer Academy, Explorers may participate in fire station ride-alongs working alongside professional firefighters.

Requirements:
- 16-20 years of age
- Ability to read, write, comprehend directions and training materials in English
- Ability to work as a team member
Application Process:
- Email a Letter of Intent to [email protected]
- After you are contacted by an Explorer Post Leader, Fill out an Application (Youth or 18+) and submit once completed.
- Explorer Post Leader will schedule and interview.
- Upon acceptance, you will need to submit a medical and physical exam from your doctor.
