SKF&R creates its annual budget in the summer and fall of the proceeding year. The Board of Fire Commissioners approves the annual budget. The funding for SKF&R, as approved by the voters, comes from property taxes. Property taxes are collected at a rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value on all taxable properties within the boundaries of the SKF&R.
