Are you buying an item for your home or business that was not required to be installed or purchased by South King Fire during an inspection?
There are many great items or tools for sale in retail stores and online that will make your home or business much safer. However, there are also products that do not meet minimum safety requirements and may not work or operate as designed or advertised.
South King Fire recommends that prior to purchasing an item that was not required by South King Fire or the local municipality to check the Consumer Product Safety Commissions (CPSC) website (here) prior to purchasing an item. This ensures you are not spending money on something that may not work or even worse, can hurt, maim, or kill you or someone else. If you don't see it listed on the CPSC website, it is likely a safe product to purchase and use. However, South King Fire suggests checking the CPSC website often as new recalls can occur for older items.
